  1. District Magistrate of Fatehpur (2012)
    In 2012, Kanchan was appointed as the District Magistrate of Fatehpur. She undertook a major project to revive the Sasur Khedari River and Thithola Lake, which were almost extinct. With a ₹23 crore plan, she successfully rejuvenated the water bodies, providing employment to local laborers. The revival of the 7-hectare river also allowed people to stop farming on the riverbed, as the river began to flow again.
  2. District Magistrate of Mirzapur
    As the DM of Mirzapur, Kanchan made significant improvements to the education system. She personally visited schools, taught math and English to children, and ensured quality education by filing reports against 350 underperforming teachers. Additionally, she focused on making villages open defecation-free and introduced a rule for constructing toilets at brick kilns before issuing NOCs.
  3. Commonwealth Award (2016)
    Kanchan received the Commonwealth Association and Management International Innovation Award for her work in reviving the river and lake. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented her with the award on Civil Service Day.

Her journey began in Bareilly in June 2006 as an Assistant Magistrate & Collector during her second phase of training, and from there, she swiftly progressed. She served as Joint Magistrate & Collector in Sitapur, followed by a posting as Chief Development Officer in Gautam Budh Nagar in 2008.

In 2009, she became the District Magistrate & Collector in Balrampur, followed by similar positions in Bhadohi and Shravasti. In April 2012, Kanchan was appointed as DM & Collector in Fatehpur, where she led transformative projects like reviving the Sasur Khedari River and Thithola Lake, greatly benefiting local laborers and the community. After this, she briefly served in Lucknow before taking on roles as Special Secretary in the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and NRI departments.
