Rinkoo Singh Rahee IAS Biography (Uttar Pradesh 2022)

Rinkoo Singh Rahee, born on 20th May 1982 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, is a 2022-batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. But his story doesn’t start with the UPSC exam – it started much earlier, when he cracked the UPPSC exam in 2004 and was appointed as the District Social Welfare Officer in Muzaffarnagar.

In 2008, he exposed a ₹100 crore scam related to scholarships and fee reimbursements. And in a shocking turn of events, he was attacked with 7 bullets on the morning of March 26, 2009 – a clear retaliation for his honesty and bravery. He survived, recovered, and came back stronger.

Even after facing suspension in 2018, Rinkoo didn’t lose hope. He utilized his time working on the Abhyudaya Coaching Scheme and started preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. And finally, in 2021, under the Divyang (disabled) quota, he cracked the exam with an All India Rank of 683.

The journey of IAS Rinkoo Singh Rahee to the UPSC Civil Services is truly inspiring and full of challenges.

He was already serving as a District Social Welfare Officer after clearing the UPPSC exam in 2004. But his honesty in exposing a ₹100 crore scam made him a target. In 2009, he survived a brutal attack where he was shot 7 times. Even after such a traumatic event, he didn’t give up.

In 2018, he faced suspension from service but continued to stand against corruption. Later, he was given the responsibility of running the Abhyudaya coaching scheme, a free government initiative to help civil services aspirants.

While working in this scheme, he himself started preparing for UPSC – showing that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. He applied under the Divyang (disabled) quota and appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Exam in 2021.

Despite all the odds, he cleared the exam with AIR 683 and became an IAS officer in the 2022 batch from the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
