Early Life and Education

Nikhil was born on 30th March 1975 in Goa. Growing up in this picturesque coastal state, he developed a deep understanding of local issues and the importance of development from a grassroots level. Nikhil completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Agriculture, which laid the foundation for his keen interest in rural development, agriculture policies, and environmental sustainability. He later pursued an MBA, which enhanced his leadership and managerial capabilities, preparing him for the complex challenges of the civil services.

The UPSC Journey

Nikhil’s path to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) was not an easy one. He joined the civil services on 23rd November 2021, part of the 2016 batch of the AGMUT cadre.
